On the eve of India’s Independence Day, thousands of people, in several Indian cities joined the “Reclaim the Night” protest demanding more safety for women. The rape and murder of a 31-year-old trainee doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital triggered the nationwide outrage.
Dozens of activists gathered outside All India Institute Of Medical Sciences in Delhi in the night, shouting slogans critical of the situation for women in the country.
