16-year-old Palestinian boy shot dead by Israel forces

A 16-year-old Palestinian has been shot dead by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank city of Nablus, Palestine officials said on Wednesday.

Palestinian Ministry of Health said in a statement that Ahmad Amjad Shehada, 16, was killed after Israeli forces shot him with a live bullet in the heart, Wafa News Agency reported.

The medical sources added that four other Palestinians were injured, one of them critical with a bullet in the abdomen, noting that one was hit with a sound bomb in the head, while others suffered from suffocation due to inhaling toxic gas fired at them by the soldiers.

“The outcome of the Israeli ‘occupation’ aggression on Nablus until 12:10 midnight: a child was killed, one was critically injured in the abdomen, and three have stable injuries,” the ministry stated.

The Israeli military alleged it came under fire and responded with live fire.

“He is the 200th Palestinian killed by Israel this year, and the 51st child,” Institute of Middle East Understanding tweeted.

Nearly 500,000 unlawful Jewish settlers currently live in the occupied West Bank in communities considered illegal by most of the international community, alongside some 2.9 million Palestinians.
