Death toll in Gaza reaches 20,000

The government’s media office in Gaza has said that at least 20,000 people have been killed by Israel in the Palestinian territory since the war began.

Some 8,000 children and 6,200 women were among those who were killed by Israeli attacks, it said, as the Israel’s genocidal war and Hamas’ resistance continued to rage more than two months after it broke out on October 7.

Meanwhile, a United Nations Security Council vote on a draft resolution to halt the fighting has been delayed yet again, according to diplomats, and is now expected to be held on Thursday.
