Doctors in Gaza remove 1kg piece of shrapnel from Palestinian man’s shoulder

The Palestine Red Crescent Society has posted a video showing a doctor holding a 1kg (2.2 pounds) piece of shrapnel removed from a 60-year-old patient’s shoulder at the al-Amal Hospital in Khan Younis in southern Gaza.

“The operation was crowned with success despite the scarcity of available medical capabilities and the occupation’s continued siege and targeting of the hospital’s surroundings,” PRCS wrote on X.

Israel’s assault on Khan Younis continues with deadly bombardment across the city as hundreds of thousands are ordered to evacuate, but residents say they cannot flee amid the violence.

At least 25,900 people have been killed and 64,110 wounded in Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7.
