Gaza: 50,000 families left homeless, 250,000 houses damaged in Israeli bombing

Gaza’s government media office said that at least 50,000 families and their extended families are now homeless.

In addition, an estimated 250,000 housing units were also partially destroyed in the Israeli bombing campaign that began across the besieged Palestinian territory on October 7.

The media office reported that most of the destroyed homes were located in northern Gaza, including Gaza City.

At least 15,000 people, mostly children and women, have been killed in Israel’s war in Gaza which is home to some 2.3 million Palestinians.

Israel’s bombardment and ground offensive have displaced more than 1.8 million people, nearly 80 percent of Gaza’s population, with most having sought refuge in the south, according to the UN humanitarian affairs office.
