Hindus for Human Rights, a rights group in America, launches campaign to disinvite Yati Narsinghanand Saraswati, a Hindutva leader cult calling for Muslim genocide to an online event by Vishwa Hindu Parishad of America (VHPA)
“Saraswati is chief priest of the Dasna Devi Temple in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, India. He is also the leader of a Hindu extremist organization called Hindu Swabhiman (Hindu Self-Respect). Saraswati has made several notorious statements calling for violence and genocide against Muslims,” states petition by Hindus for Human Rights in Change.org.
The petition also demands VHP America to formally denounce his comments and the hateful ideology of Hindutva.
Narsinghanand became news again last week when he addressed a press conference in Delhi and used abusive language against Prophet Mohammad and Islam. His hate speeches extent from calling the former president of India, APJ Abdul Kalam, a ‘jihadi’ and lamenting that Muslims were not exterminated at the time of partition.
Massachusetts-based Vishwa Hindu Parishad of America (VHPA) is American counterpart of Vishwa Hindu Parishad in India, a notorious Hindu militant outfit. VHP is an affiliate of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, a deep state campaigning for Hindu nationalism across South India.
Narsinghanand is invited for the virtual Ramayan Path, taking place from April 13-21, 2021 organised by VHP America. the group was flagged earlier this month for receiving Covid funding from the US government.
Just last month, a 14-year-old Muslim boy was violently assaulted for drinking water at his temple in Ghaziabad, which he later justified in a Facebook Live video. His organization provides children as young as nine with arms training in order to “fight Muslims who are exploiting Hindu women.”
The petitioner demanded U.S. Government to investigate VHPA for its ties to extremists in India.
“Any registered 501(c)3 nonprofit receiving federal funding should not be allowed to propagate Islamophobia and genocidal hatred among Americans,” reads the petition.
