A 12-year-old Palestinian boy shot by Israeli soldiers at the entrance to Beit Ummar town, north of the southern West Bank city of Hebron, and critically wounded has died of his wounds on Wednesday, according to the Ministry of Health.
Mohammed al-Alami, 12, was shot in the chest when soldiers opened fire at a car driven by his father at the entrance to Beit Ummar. He was rushed to Ahli hospital in Hebron where he was reported in critical condition until he was pronounced dead.
He is the second Palestinian minor killed by Israeli fire in days.
On Saturday a 17-year-old Palestinian, Mohammed Munir al-Tamimi, who suffered gunshot wounds, died in hospital, a day after violence in the flashpoint Palestinian village of Beita, according to Aljazeera.
Palestinians in West Bank are protesting the ongoing illegal occupation by Israel. The bloody crackdown of Israeli soldiers resulted in 320 Palestinians being wounded, according to the Red Crescent.
Late Tuesday, a 41-year-old man was shot dead near Beita, where hundreds are protesting the occupation.
For several months, Beita has been the scene of frequent unrest, when dozens of Israeli families settled on the village’s Mount Sabih and began building the wildcat outpost of Evyatar in defiance of Israeli and international law.
The land expropriation threatened the livelihoods of at least 17 Palestinian families – more than 100 people in the Palestinian village.
