Babasaheb Dr.B.R.Ambedkar born on 14th April 1981 was a multi-faceted intellectual, who blended academic excellence with Social Responsibility and fought against caste system throughout his life. He mastered several disciplines, such as Economics, Political Science, Anthropology, Sociology, Philosophy, Jurisprudence, etc..… However, his Contributions for the most part were restricted to Reservations and Constitution. Reserve Bank of India was instituted after his recommendations to Hilton Young Commission. Minimum Working Hours and Minimum wage, and Maternity leave were introduced by him, when he was labour member at Viceroy Council.
India, as an idea of people (not as a geographical entity) embedded with the principles of Equality, Liberty, and Fraternity as envisioned by Babasaheb has come under the threat of Hindu Raj. Babasaheb warned “If Hindu Raj becomes a reality then it would be greatest menace to this country. Whatever may Hindus say, actually it does not make a difference that Hinduism is a danger to Independence, Equality and Brotherhood. Thus, it is an enemy of democracy. We should make all out efforts to stop Hindu Raj from becoming a reality.”
Before demise, Rohith Vemula, who was led to suicide due Political Victimization of BJP and RSS, reiterated “Dalit Organizations and Independent Dalit Activists must make a resolution to resist these RSS programs (pogroms) with tooth and nail fights. It is a waste of time to watch at the left side for support. Dalits should take RSS personally and fight back. Or else, we will be doomed to a future, very risky for our coming generations”. Ironically, the proponents of Hindu Raj had started appropriating Ambedkar on his 125th Birth Anniversary. As Babasaheb said, go back to villages and your localities, and emancipate the masses, failing which depressed classes will be doomed.
“My appeal to the students is that after acquiring education, instead of doing some clerical job, he should serve his village or locality people, by which, exploitation and injustice arising out of ignorance can be stopped. Your emancipation lies in the emancipation of the society.”
