COVID-19: Highest single-day tally of 65,410 takes India past 21,50,431

With 65,410 fresh cases, India’s COVID-19 caseload jumped to 21,50,431, registering more than 60,000 new infections for the third consecutive day.

Saturday’s toll was 884, less than 900 for the first time after three days, while the total deaths crossed 43,000.

Covid-19 recovery rate rised to 68.32%, fatality rate declined to 2.04% in the country, the Health ministry said on Saturday.

Maharashtra recorded its highest single-day surge in fresh cases at 12,822, as the total caseload in the most pandemic hit state in the country went up to 5,03,084.

275 deaths reported in Maharashtra on Saturday.

Andhra Pradesh continued to record more than 10,000 cases with 10,080 patients testing positive.

Uttar Pradesh records the biggest single-day jump of 4,660 cases, tally rises to 1,18,038.

Delhi recorded 1,404 cases, taking the tally to 1,44,127 and Kerala recorded 1,420 new cases, tally rises to 33,120.

The death toll in the most populated state in the country climbs to 2,028 with 47 new fatalities.
