Double-engine govts in Assam, Centre useless, corrupt: RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav

Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav on Monday alleged that the ‘double- engine’ governments run by the BJP at the Centre and in Assam are ‘useless’ as they indulged in corruption and spread hatred among people.

Addressing his first election rally in Assam at Tinsukia, Yadav claimed that BJP practises the politics of hate.

“Inflation is at its peak. BJP governments are there in Assam and at the Centre. That means it is a double-engine government. But it is useless. Everywhere corruption is taking place and they are creating enmity between brothers. Politics of hate is happening,” news agency PTI quoted the former Bihar deputy chief minister as saying.

The Bihar Leader of Opposition also held a roadshow in Tinsukia in support of RJD’s lone candidate Hari Devi Chaudhari.

He urged voters to vote for the ‘Mahajot alliance’ led by Congress and AIUDF.

“When we announced to give employment to 10 lakh youth in Bihar, BJP came forward and shouted that they will give jobs 20 lakh unemployed youth in their poll manifesto for Bihar. They (BJP) won, by cheating, and the help of the election commission. All of you know about it. Where are the promised job?” Yadav said.

Asking voters to vote for the RJD candidate, Yadav said, “The Congress and RJD alliance have given five guarantees to the people of Assam and as we come to power we will work to deliver the guaranteed.”

The Congress has formed a broad-based alliance with AIUDF, BPF, CPI, CPI(M), Bodoland Democratic Front (BDF), Anchalik Gana Morcha (AGM) and RJD to fight the upcoming assembly election against the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) for 126-member Assam house.
