The Special Investigation Team (SIT), which is probing the allegations of sexual assault levelled against JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna, arrested his father and JD(S) MLA H D Revanna on Saturday in connection with a kidnap case filed at K R Nagar, Mysuru district.
He was taken in custody from the residence of former prime minister and his father H D Deve Gowda.
This comes after the People’s Representative Court denied H D Revanna relief from arrest.
After hearing the anticipatory bail plea filed by H D Revanna in connection with the case, the court reserved orders until the next hearing. When HD Revanna’s lawyer sought interim relief, the Court rejected the same and posted the matter for May 6. This paved the way for the SIT to arrest H D Revanna.
Meanwhile, the SIT told Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah that it would approach the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for a blue corner notice to trace Prajwal Revanna, who is absconding.
The SIT is investigating multiple cases of sexual assault by Prajwal and conducted spot mahazar at H D Revanna’s residence at Holenarispur, Hassan district, where the MP shot multiple videos of the victims.
