Muslims should not buy house of Hindus and vice versa, demands Kanpur Mayor

The Uttar Pradesh Government should bring a rule so that no person from Muslim community can buy a house belonging to Hindus and vice versa, demanded Kanpur Mayor and BJP leader Pramila Pandey.

“I will also demand from my government, that no Muslim could buy the house/property of a Hindu and no Hindu could buy the house of a Muslim,” said Pandey after reaching Munshi Purva locality in Kanpur as Hindus alleged that a Muslim family encroached temple premises.

The BJP leader who first became mayor in 2017 and was re-elected in the civic body elections in May this year.

“Hindus think they [Muslims] are giving more money, so sell them their [Hindus] houses,” she said.

“We found many of these temples have been encroached. We are not against them [Muslims]. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also talks about ‘Sabka Saath’, but we are angry with their behaviour/mentality as they throw waste, dirt in temples,” Pandey said in an apparent hate speech.

She went on to say: “You (Muslims) caused so much (trouble) that Hindus left (this place),” she said. “Don’t touch the shrine. The shrine belongs to us. It will remain where it is. (But instead) you make a door or a window near it, (even) relieve yourself (there). This is wrong.”
