Rashtriya Lok Dal joins BJP-led NDA ahead of Lok Sabha elections

Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led NDA, the Hindutva party and the RLD on Saturday confirmed.

Taking to social media platform X, Union Minister Amit Shah welcomed RLD supremo Jayant Chaudhary to the NDA.

“Under the leadership of Narendra Modi, India is witnessing parallel development and welfare for the poor! I met Amit Shah and JP Nadda and decided to join NDA,” RLD chief Jayant Singh said in an X post.

Singh expressed that the NDA is prepared to fulfil the resolve for a developed India and aims to cross the 400-seat mark this time.

RLD was a member of the Opposition’s INDIA bloc.

The Union government’s decision to give Bharat Ratna award to RLD founder Charan Singh played a pivotal role in the latest move, said political analysts.
