UP: Baby kidnapped from mother sleeping on railway station, BJP leader arrested

In a shocking incident a seven-month-old baby was kidnapped by a man when it was sleeping next to its mother at the Mathura railway station.

The baby has been found by the police after five days of intense search.

The entire incident was caught on camera by the railway station CCTV and the footage has gone viral on social media.

The incident took place on platform number 8-9 of the train station, according to cops.

Uttar Pradesh Police had initiated a manhunt to find and nab the accused. Four teams of Government Railway Police (GRP) have been deployed for the operation and a photo of the accused was circulated by the police.

In the viral video shared by many on Twitter, the man can be seen casually strolling on the station when spots the baby sleeping with its family. He then proceeds to pick it up and flees the scene running towards a train that was stationed at the platform.

A case has been registered under relevant sections at the GRP police station, Mathura Junction.

The abducted baby was sold by Deepak and was found in Firozabad at a BJP councilor’s house. The Municipal Corporation Councilor, identified as Vinita Agarwal and her husband Krishna Murari Agarwal living in ​​Firozabad, were arrested by the police on the charges of buying the infant.

Vinita and Krishna have a 12-year-old daughter and no son. On the charge of buying a stolen child, the police had taken the whole family to Mathura last night for questioning.
