A 28-year-old youth, Shoaib, carrying his young daughter on his shoulders was shot in the head by armed miscreants on a motorcycle in Uttar Pradesh’s Shahjahanpur on 13 August.
Shoaib was quickly taken to a nearby hospital and has been referred to Bareilly for additional treatment. He has now been moved to a Delhi hospital to receive more advanced care.
The entire incident was captured on a CCTV camera.

In the video, two men on a bike are seen crossing Shoaib and then stopping. They turn back to look at him, before an armed assailant approaches him and shoots him in the head at close range. The assailant then joins the two men waiting on the bike, and the trio flee the scene.
The video also shows locals rushing to help Shoaib and his daughter, who was thrown to the ground after the attacker shot him.
Shoaib had relocated to Amritsar, Punjab, around 15 years ago, where his father, Nafees Ahmed, owns a mobile shop. He had returned home in Uttar Pradesh with his family days before the incident.
The footage of the incident is being examined and the identity of the accused is being ascertained, said Shahjahanpur SP Ashok Meena.
