The varsity has imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 each on Faseeh Ahmed EK, Sahana Pradeep and A.S Adish organising a protest in support of Delhi's historic Shaheen Bagh protest by Muslim women against the CAA and painting graffiti on the walls at the North Shopping Complex of the varsity.

Until the Delhi police at the least issues a public apology, one can expect the clash of interests between them and the protesters to become stronger.

A protest leader claimed that a 70-year-old man collapsed and died in the stampede-like situation created following the police action. “A 70-year old man from Sajja Munusamy street got trapped in the crowd, collapsed and died,” they said. “We have come to know that he was in the hospital and had returned home only a day before.”

Every day there are speeches, lectures and Shayari (poetry) at the walled city's Shaheen Bagh. Musical and cultural events were held and various artists performed in solidarity with anti-CAA protest.

Scores of Jamia Millia Islamia students were lathi-charged by police on Monday when they tried to march toward Parliament against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). More than 10 women students are being treated for injuries to their private parts. More than ten students were detained.
