A statewide bandh announced by state government, which is an alliance of the Shiv Sena, Nationalist Congress Party and the Congress, will be observed in Maharashtra today to support the farmers protest against the farmers' killing on October 3 in Uttar Pradesh’s Lakhimpur Kheri district.

"Other parties are being allowed. We are being stopped. I will try to go to Lakhimpur Kheri. The prime minister was in Lucknow yesterday but he did not visit Lakhimpur Kheri," Gandhi told reporters.

Baghel is heard telling the police he is 'not going to Lakhimpur Kheri'. Despite this, the police have barred him from leaving the airport.
