The Election Commission of India (ECI), which has continued to receive flak for not acting on PM Narendra Modi's hate speech against Muslims during poll campaign in Rajasthan on April 21, has purportedly taken cognisance of the Model Code of Conduct violation today.

While the hate speeches against Muslims by BJP leaders, including its star campaigners, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, make headlines and spark outrage, in Kerala, the campaign intensifies against two BJP candidates who were previously booked in hate speech cases.

BJP Minority Morcha leader Usman Ghani, who expressed disappointment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent Islamophobic remarks in Rajasthan, was today removed from the party positions.

In an Islamophobic speech, Prime Minister and BJP's star campaigner Narendra Modi alleged on Tuesday that the Congress reduced the SC/ST reservation in Andhra Pradesh to implement Muslim reservation. He alleged that this was a pilot project which the Congress wanted to implement across the entire country.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday reiterated his anti-Muslim rhetorics and accused that the Congress tried to extend reservation on the basis of religion and give it to Muslims and hatched a "deep conspiracy" to snatch people's wealth and distribute it among "select" people.

Joining an anti-Muslim campaign led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a social media post on X by the Bharatiya Janata Party Karnataka made false accusations against Congress and spread Islamophobic rhetoric.
