European Union High Representative Kaja Kallas on Tuesday announced that the European Union will review its Association Agreement with Israel due to the "untenable" humanitarian crisis in Gaza caused by Israel's prolonged blockade and military actions.
Israeli airstrikes targeted activists and volunteers constructing a well in the al-Saftawi area in the northern Gaza Strip on Sunday, killing seven and injuring five, according to the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights (PCHR), as a severe water shortage continues to cause dehydration, displacement, and death in the region.
Twenty-two countries issued a joint statement saying Israel’s decision to allow a “limited restart” of aid operations in Gaza must be followed by a complete resumption of unfettered humanitarian assistance.
“My heart was breaking but I couldn’t do anything given the lack of resources and harsh conditions. On May 3, my daughter died of hunger. Saying goodbye to her was an indescribable pain, and everything she endured continues to torment me every moment of my life,” al-Iskafi said.
