Muslim youth tied to tree and beaten to death by Hindu mob in UP

Basith Khan, a 32-year-old Muslim youth was killed by a Hindu mob on false suspicion of theft as the mob tied him to a tree and rained punches and kicks on him for hours before he collapsed in Aonla village in Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly district.

The incident took place on Thursday night and Basith breathed his last on Friday evening in a hospital in Bareilly.

“People assembled and dragged him to a nearby tree and tied him to it. Some of them even posed for mobile cameras while pouncing on Basith brutally,” a relative of the slain said.

“Basith died of internal bleeding,” he added.

He also told Maktoob that soon after the brutal attack, Basith was handed over to police and instead of taking him to a hospital police dropped him home in a rickshaw and left.

Muhammed Asif Khan, a Muslim activist has shared a video on Twitter in which Basith is seen tied to a tree and people were thrashing him.

Basith’s mother Times of India that he was in enormous pian.

“We took him into hospital, but he died there,” she said.

Bareilly police has registered a case against perpetrators in 147, 148, and 302 sections of the Indian Penal Code.
