Coronavirus: Kerala’s tally crosses 3 lakh-mark, over 2 lakh recover

Kerala’s coronavirus crossed the three lakh mark on Tuesday as 8,764 fresh cases were added in the last 24 hours.

The death toll mounted to 1,046 with 21 more fatalities. Though more deaths were reported, the State is yet to ascertain them as COVID-19 deaths.

The state’s coronavirus case count reached 3,03,896. The state also registered 7,723 recoveries in the last 24 hours.

So far, 2,07,357 people recovered from the disease, while 95,407 patients are still under treatment in various hospitals across the state, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan told reporters.

According to the CM, 36,76,682 samples have been sent for testing so far.

India’s virus tally rose to 71,75,880 on Tuesday as the country reported 55,342 new infections in 24 hours, the lowest since mid-August.
