“It is a planned one,” Mamata Banerjee attacked in Nandigram

West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee, who filed her nomination from Nandigram today and was planning to stay another day in her constituency, is being rushed to Kolkata after she attacked in Nandigram. The chief minister has sustained injuries to her leg, sources said.

“There were four five men who did it,” NDTV quoted the Chief Minister as saying.

Pointing to her leg, she said, “See how it is swelling up”. Asked if it was a planned attack, she added, “Of course it is a conspiracy… there was no security men around me”.

Visuals from the spot showed security guards lifting and placing her on the backseat of a car.

She further said that she was having chest pain as well.

Banerjee may be taken to a hospital on her way to Kolkata, CNN-News18 reported.

Trinamool is expected to file a complaint with the Election Commission in regards to the attack on the party chief.
