“Had Prime Minister Modi taken better measures, this country wouldn’t have faced the second wave of COVID-19,” AIMIM supremo and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi said in the Lok Sabha.

He was speaking about the lack of preparedness during the second wave.

“You are the main cause of more than 40 lakh people died in India,” Owaisi said.

“On May 28, then Minister for Information and Broadcasting had said that adults in India will be administered both doses by December 31 this year. If you see CoWIN portal today, you will find that 33% people are fully vaccinated and health economist Rojo John says 43% of 45 plus are yet to be vaccinated,” Owaisi said.

MP also said that it’s because of the top court’s intervention, the Union government acted.

Reminding the Narendra Modi government that two Omicron variant cases were detected in Karnataka today, Owaisi asked what’s the Union government’s action plan preventing the spread of new variant that has triggered global alarm now.

“Spoke in Lok Sabha on the govt’s shabby response to COVID-19, its lack of preparedness during second wave and the complete absence of compassion that resulted in loss of 40 lakh lives,” sharing the video of his speech, vocal Opposition member tweeted.
