“People will definitely bring our party to power”: Mayawati at birthday event

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati released the first list of the 53 party candidates for the first phase February 10 assembly polls to be held on 58 assembly constituencies in western Uttar Pradesh.

She was addressing her cadres in programme organized in the BSP state unit office to celebrate the 66th birthday of four-time UP chief minister on Saturday.

“We have finalized candidates on 53 seats in the first list, remaining 5 will we released in a day or two,” Mayawati said.

Mayawati called upon party leaders and cadres to give her a birthday gift with making BSP government in the coming assembly polls and ensure the victory of party candidates.

“In the upcoming assembly elections, the people will definitely bring our party to power again and I also want to assure them that after coming to power this time our party will again run the government in all matters like its previous regime,” she said.

While claiming that the members of all community got share in the power, government schemes and resources uder the BSP governments, Mayawati said the Samajwadi Party (SP) is not a well-wisher of the Dalit, backward and Muslim community.

On the occasion, the tall Dalit politician released the 17th edition of her book “A Travelogue of My Struggle Ridden Life and BSP Movement.”

“The travelogue will generate self-respect among the party supporters and guide them to take the movement launched by the BSP forward,” she said.

Elections for the 403 Assembly constituencies in Uttar Pradesh will be held in seven phases starting February 10. A total of 58 assembly seats spread over 11 districts will go the polls in the first phase on February 10.
