Amina Khatoon, a 67-year-old Rohingya refugee living in India on Saturday reached the Embassy of Turkey in New Delhi with dry food, warm clothes, baby food, and blankets. Khatoon bought them with the money she got from selling her gold bangle, among the most valuable thing she possessed.
The world's deadliest earthquake in more than a decade has claimed more than 15,000 lives in Turkey and Syria. The toll is feared to rise further in the coming days.
Turkish authorities have confirmed the deaths of 2,921 people after its southeastern region bordering Syria was rocked by major earthquakes. A further 1,444 people are confirmed to have died in Syria.
