Asaduddin Owaisi, AIMPLB leaders meet CM KCR, ask his support in opposing UCC

All Indian Muslim Personal Law Board delegation led by AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi met Telangana CM K. Chandrashekar Rao, asked him to extend his support in opposing the Uniform Civil Code, proposed by the Narendra Modi government.

“We met with the Telangana CM KCR and discussed with him the UCC proposed by the PM. We informed the CM that this is not only a Muslim issue but also a Christan issue, it will destroy the beauty and the culture of the nation. If UCC will be introduced, the pluralism of the nation will be finished which is not a good thing. PM Modi, BJP and RSS don’t like pluralism which is the beauty of our nation. CM KCR has assured us that they will oppose the UCC,” Owaisi said to reporters.

“We will also appeal to CM Jagan Mohan Reddy to oppose this,” Owaisi added.

Owaisi met KCR along with a delegation of the All Indian Muslim Personal Law Board.

The AIMPLB, in a memorandum submitted to the Chief Minister, appreciated his work for the State and said Telangana was seeing peace and good government for the last 9 years.

“It has also become a model for inclusive governance. The State has seen rapid progress in core areas of infrastructure, agriculture and welfare. We must also commend you for your brave stand against the unconstitutional CAA, NPR and NRC, including the adoption of a critical resolution in the State legislature,” they said.
