It’s a historical gold and silver for Indian Athletics in the men’s Triple Jump at the Commonwealth Games 2022.
Eldhose Paul brings home the gold medal with a jump of 17.03m and Abdulla Aboobacker grabs the silver with an effort of 17.02m.
It could have been a clean sweep for India but Praveen Chitravel finished fourth.
This is India’s first gold medal in athletics in CWG 2022 so far.
There has been a marked improvement in India’s overall tally in athletics from 2018, with more medals still expected.
