“Khap Panchayat and protesting wrestlers will not get defeated,” says Rakesh Tikait

Farmer leader Rakesh Tikait today said that the Khap Panchayat and the protesting wrestlers will not get defeated.

Tikait who said the final decision on the issue of wrestlers’ protest will be taken at a meeting in Haryana tomorrow, made it clear that will leave no stone unturned. “We will go to the President of India if need be… We are with you, you don’t have to worry,” he said at a Mahapanchayat in Muzaffarnagar today.

The Mahapanchayat was called by BKU leader Naresh Tikait on Wednesday, a day after he and other farmer leaders managed to dissuade India’s top wrestlers from throwing their medals in the Ganga river to protest police inaction against the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief in cases of sexual harassment.
