Scores of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) volunteers in uniform marched inside Jawaharlal Nehru University on Sunday, singing a communal song “Jaago Toh Ek Baar Hindu.”
The march was part of the Hindu nationalist and militant group’s Vijayadashami celebrations.
According to a video shared by Saib Bilaval, a PhD scholar at JNU, the RSS volunteers gathered at the JNU admin block, where protests and demonstrations are not allowed within 100 meters of the building according to a court order.
The song the saffron group was singing demonizes Muslims and falsely refers to Bhagat Singh and Guru Gobind Singh as “Hindus,” as posted by the PhD scholar on X.
