Deadline to deposit Rs 2,000 notes extended to 7 October

The last date to exchange Rs 2,000 denomination notes has been extended to October 7, the Reserve Bank of India said on Saturday.

Rs 2,000 notes to be scrapped, exchange them by 30 Sept, will remain legal tender

The Reserve Bank of India has said it will withdraw ₹ 2,000 notes from circulation and people can exchange or deposit them in their bank accounts by September 30.
