Eyewitness accounts of anti-Muslim violence in Gujarat on Ram Navami
Against the backdrop of anti-Muslim violence in Gujarat’s Himmatnagar and Khambhat in April this year, a fact-finding team consisting of Neha Dabhade, Deputy Director at Centre for Study of Society and Secularism and Hozefa Ujjaini, social activist and Director of Buniyaad visited Khambhat and Himmatnagar from 25th to 27th July, 2022. This is an excerpt from their fact-finding report:
Gujarat: Govt removing Muslim properties weeks after Ram Navami violence
The Gujarat government on Tuesday began demolishing properties they allege are encroachments in Himmatnagar city, where anti-Muslim violence had broken out by Hindutva groups during a Ram Navami procession.
