Several organizations and individuals came together today under the banner of Joint Action Committee for Social Justice, Mumbai, Maharashtra to protest against the police violence, wrongful arrests and the denial of electricity , water and food for students in Hyderabad Central University. It extends solidarity to students who are opposing the resumption of duties by HCU vice chancellor Apparao Podile who is an accused in the murder of Rohith and has been charged under the SC/ST Atrocities Act

Asaduddin Owaisi , President of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen and Member of Parliament responded to police brutality over students in Hyderabad central university. He said that it is a gross violation of right to life which is fundamental right in Constitution .

Fast forward to 60 plus days and many protests later, VC Appa Rao Podile, the small fish who facilitated the murder of one of his own students, gets back to campus aided by right wing police and right wing administration. Nobody cares. Students starts protesting non violently and gets brutally beaten up and sexually, physically and verbally abused. Rape threats are issued at female students and Muslim students are called terrorists. Nobody bothers to report even. Around 36 people including 3 faculties are missing after police detained them. No food in university of hyderabad messes since 24 hours.. this afternoon, when a few students started cooking near the veilvada area, they were stopped by thepolice and sunkanna and uday bhanu were picked up.. the ugly face of bharat mata. no food, no water.. could there be a more cruel violation of human rights? thousands of students are being denied food and water!! even enemies in war zones are given more consideration..shame!!

Police entered in campus and brutally attacked students and faculties. They arrested students leaders. Faculty members verbally abused and two Prof K Y Ratnam, Prof Tathagata Sengupta picked up by police.As students told us , Male police brutally grabbed, molested, tossed and beat female students and faculties alike. Female faculties were grabbed by their hair and dragged into vans. Male students were swept inside the van and were beaten without mercy.
