Leading international thrill writers share top tips at SIBF 2019

Multiple prize-winning Swedish author, Jessica Jarlvi and critically acclaimed Steven James, author of more than thirty books, including psychological thrillers, gave insights and writing tips to a gripped audience. Moderated by accomplished writer Kathleen Antrim, the session also had input from Dr. Fahad Hussain, a literary critic and member of the Bahrain Writers Association who pointed out that, although hugely popular and big sellers in the West, detective novels and thrillers are not very sought after in the Arab culture for complex cultural reasons.

Using a series of experiments the kids learnt that what appears to white light is actually made up of a spectrum of colours, that oxygen is lighter than carbon dioxide, and that balloons make a very loud bang when filled with natural hydrochloride and heated up.
