RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav targeted the Bihar chief minister and his main opponent Nitish Kumar over his latest outburst at an election rally and said "Respected Nitish ji is tired. The public is fed up of his stale, boring and age-old speeches."

The manifesto includes Grand Alliance's chief ministerial candidate Tejashwi Yadav's promise of one million jobs and equal pay for equal work among other things.

The grand alliance in Bihar - the Congress, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), and Left parties - on Saturday released its manifesto for the state assembly elections with a focus on agricultural laws and government jobs.

"Tejashwi has the blessings of me and Laluji as parents and entire people of the state. He will register a big win in this election," former Bihar chief minister Rabri Devi said on Wednesday while holding a picture of the jailed president of the Rashtriya Janata Dal and former chief minister of Bihar Lalu Prasad Yadav.

The Rashtriya Janata Dal-led opposition Grand-Alliance will contest 144 of the 243 assembly seats that will go to the three-phase Bihar polls, beginning October 28. Congress will fight in 70 seats and 29 seats have been given to the three Left allies — CPIM four, CPI six, and CPIML 19.

A group of students who study at Jawaharlal Nehru University and Indian Institute of Technology Delhi and hail from Bihar have written an open letter to Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav and urged him to demand the release of arrested student leaders Sharjeel Imam and Meeran Haider. Sharjeel Imam, a resident of Kako village of Jehanabad in Bihar, and Meeran Haider, a resident of Barharia of Siwan in Bihar were arrested under draconian UAPA for taking part in protests against the new citizenship matrix.
