Want to free people of India from politics of hate, says Mallikarjun Kharge on Day 1 of Oppn meet

The first day of the second leg of the Opposition meeting concluded in Bengaluru on Monday, 17 July, where 26 parties were in attendance.

Reiterating the Opposition’s slogan ‘United We Stand’ Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said, “Like-minded opposition parties shall closely work together to foster an agenda of social justice, inclusive development and national welfare.”

“Well begun is half done!” he tweeted.

Kharge said: “We want to free the people of India from the autocratic and anti-people politics of hate, division, economic inequality and loot. We want an India which is governed by Constitutional principles of justice, liberty, equality and fraternity. We want an India which provides hope and faith to the weakest person.”

Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah later hosted the parties for dinner.

Over 40 prominent leaders present at dinner party during the first day of opposition meeting.

The agenda of this meeting include setting up of a sub-committee for drafting the common minimum program and communication points for the alliance for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls and also to discuss the process for decision on seat sharing on a state to state basis.
