Ambedkarite and Muslim organizations organized the ‘Resistance March’ against institutionalized Brahmanism in Jawaharlal Nehru University on Monday night, commemorating Rohith Vemula’s Shahadath Din. The March was jointly called by Birsa Ambedkar Phule Students’ Association (BAPSA), Students Islamic Organization of India(SIO) and Youth Forum for Discussions and Welfare Activities(YFDA) by raising the slogans “Rejecting Victimhood” and “Reclaiming Resistance”. It started from Ganga Dhaba and concluded at Chandrabhaga hostel premises with a gathering of student activists.
Subodh Kunwer presided the event and Bhupali Kusum Vitthal(President, BAPSA), Sadath Hussain(Member, Central Advisory Counsil, SIO) and Heba Ahmed( Gen. Secretary, YFDA) delivered speeches seeking justice for Rohith Vemula and Najeeb Ahmad. The march attended by student community as well as teachers and the student leaders raised their concerns over the struggle against Brahmanical Fascism in universities.
