50,000 more farmers heading towards Delhi from Punjab to join protest

Around 50,000 farmers heading towards the national capital Delhi from Punjab to join the protests against the Narendra Modi government’s new farm laws, Kisan Mazdoor Sangarsh Committee leader SS Pandher said.

“Around 700 tractor trolleys and along with other vehicles are moving towards Delhi’s Kundli border. Around 50,000 farmers will go to the Kundli border. Today, we will cross the Shambhu border in Punjab. Later, we will stay in Haryana during the night. The next morning we will move towards the Kundli border,” Pandher told news agency ANI.

According to protesting farmers’ plan of blocking Delhi-Jaipur, Delhi-Agra highway by December 12, more farmers are likely to join the protests on Friday and Saturday.

The ongoing protest of the farmers against the three new agriculture laws enters 16th day with they have said that the protest will be intensified and a date for railway track blockade across the country will be announced soon. 

The agitating farmers’ unions have rejected the government’s draft proposal on amendment to the farm laws. The farm leaders have further declared their intention to continue the agitation till all the three farm laws are repealed.
