Adani, Modi are one: Rahul Gandhi

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Sunday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi and businessman Gautam Adani of being aligned.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Sunday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi and businessman Gautam Adani of being aligned.

“Gautam Adani and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are one,” former Congress chief Gandhi said at the Congress’ 85th plenary session in Raipur, the Hindustan Times reported.

“I criticised Gautam Adani in Parliament and asked what relationship he has with PM Modi. The government and its ministers came to the businessman’s defense,” he said. “One cannot ask questions about Adani in Parliament… We will continue to ask questions till the truth comes out,” Gandhi added.

Gandhi was criticising the Union government over the crisis triggered by a report by the U.S firm Hindenburg Research which accuses the Indian conglomerate of engaging in “brazen stock manipulation and accounting fraud scheme over the course of decades.”

Rahul Gandhi went on to say: “I want to tell Adani that his company is ‘hurting’ the country and is ‘snatching the entire infrastructure of the country. The battle for the country’s freedom was against one company as it had taken away all wealth and ports etc Adani and Modi ji are one.”
