Bihar: Hindustani Awam Morcha demands surveys of RSS offices

The Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) has demanded a survey of RSS offices in Bihar, saying that the Hindutva outfit could conduct explosions and blasts to incite riots in the state.

HAM spokesperson, Danish Rizwan, claimed that the RSS was attempting to destabilise the Bihar government.

“We demand Nitish Kumar to order a survey and probe all the offices of the RSS in Bihar as we believe that after the change of dispensation in the state, the RSS could trigger an explosion and promote terror activities in the state to destabilise the government,” said Danish.

This comes after Union minister and Bihar’s controversial BJP leader Giriraj Singh’s demand for a survey of madrasas in the state.

Giriraj Singh had said that the survey of unrecognised madrasas should be conducted as it was being conducted by the Uttar Pradesh government.

The Hindutva politician said a survey of madrasas in Bihar is essential, especially in the bordering areas like Seemanchal, which shares a border with Bengal, Nepal and Bangladesh.

“Bihar shares a border with Nepal, Bangladesh and Bengal, and the state government should conduct surveys of madrasas and masjids in all these areas,” said the Union Minister. “Who are all living in madrasas and masjids, what are their activities, and whether their activities are against the country should be surveyed,” he added.

Meanwhile, the HAM’s allegation that the RSS could conduct explosions and blasts comes days after Yashwant Shinde, a former Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) worker claimed in an affidavit filed in Maharashtra’s Nanded court that he took part in a bomb-making camp a year before the 2004 Lok Sabha election and that the organisations connected to the RSS were responsible for a slew of bomb explosions around the nation.

In the affidavit, Shinde named several RSS and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) workers who were involved at many levels of planning and executing a bomb blast.

He claims that he has worked for RSS, VHP, Bajrang Dal at state and national level in various capacities.
