Central agencies being used to destabilise LDF govt in Kerala, alleges CPI(M) Polit Bureau

The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has strongly condemned the manner in which the Enforcement Directorate and other central investigating agencies are “being misused to destabilise the democratically elected LDF government in Kerala and targeting the Chief Minister of the state.”

“The central investigations into the gold smuggling case under the UAPA over the allegation that the money received through such smuggling was being used for anti-national activities is instead being used to implicate the political leadership of the ruling LDF government in Kerala,” reads a statement issued by CPI(M) Polit Bureau.

According to the PB statement, two of the accused now in custody have informed that they are being pressurised to name the political leadership in return for being turned into approvers from being charged as accused.

An audio recording of a lady and the bail application of a suspended IAS officer have both stated this, the left party alleged.

“This is absolutely atrocious and unacceptable. The BJP central government is using the central agencies to undermine the basic tenets of the Indian Constitution and grossly misuse them to advance their political interests through such unconstitutional means,” the statement noted.

The Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) said it opposess such moves and calls upon the judiciary and other independent institutions to uphold the Constitution.

The left party also called upon the people to rise in protest against such nefarious designs.

It said the PB is confident that the people of Kerala will give a befitting reply to the machinations by the BJP and the UDF that are working in tandem in the state.
