Christian stall at Delhi Book Fair vandalised by Hindutva men

A group of Hindutva men vandalised a book stall at Delhi’s World Book Fair on Wednesday after objecting to the distribution of copies of the Bible.

Videos on social media showed the Hindutva mob shouting slogans of “Jai Shri Ram”, “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Free Bible band karo [stop free Bibles]”.

The stall was being run by Gideon International, a Christian non-profit organisation.

The mob also recited the Hanuman Chalisa and told the volunteers at the stall to “stop converting people to Christianity.”

Police said to Indian Express that while a protest had taken place, no books were torn and no violence was witnessed.
