Derek O’Brien suspended from Rajya Sabha for rest of session

Trinamool Congress MP Derek O’Brien was suspended by the Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar on Tuesday for ‘unruly behaviour’. He was raising point of order for discussion on Manipur which led to his suspension from the house.

The two had a heated exchange right before the motion to suspend O’Brien was moved by Union Minister Piyush Goyal.

Amid the ruckus in the Upper House, VP Dhankhar ordered ‘He (Derek O’ Brien) must leave the House.’

O’ Brien will remain suspended for remainder of the monsoon session.

Amid a massive ruckus after the suspension order, the Rajya Sabha was adjourned till 12 noon.
