Female NEET candidates allege public changing of clothes in Maharashtra, West Bengal

Several female students taking the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for undergraduate medical college admissions in Maharashtra claimed they were subjected to uncomfortable situations at their exam centres on Sunday.

They alleged that they were asked to change their clothes in the open and there was no designated area for them to do so, leading them to feel uneasy in public.

Some students at the Smt Kasturbai Walchand College exam centre in the Sangli area reported being asked to undress and wear their clothes inside out, NDTV reported.

The National Testing Agency (NTA), responsible for conducting the NEET exam, is investigating the matter following complaints, and no official statement has been released yet.

Reports also emerged of a similar incident in West Bengal, where female students had to change clothes and were allegedly asked to strip and have their underwear checked, with some resorting to swapping clothes with their mothers after failing to locate a nearby clothing store.
