A woman doctor was stabbed to death by a prisoner who was brought by the police to the hospital for treatment at Kottarakara taluk hospital in Kerala early on Wednesday morning.
The accused Sandeep (42) is a UP school teacher and a native of Pooyappally. Dr Vandana (23) was a house surgeon at the hospital.
While a wound on the man’s leg was being dressed by the doctor, he suddenly got provoked and attacked everyone standing there using a scissor and a scalpel, reports local media. The doctor was rushed to a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram but could not be saved.
Sandeep stabbed the doctor six times in the back. She had stab wounds to her back and abdomen, according to the doctors who treated her at a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram.
Sandeep was involved in a fight with his neighbors, which led to the police taking him into detention. Police took him to the hospital as he was hurt during the fight.
