A group of Hindu men thrashed a Muslim boy at Mumbai’s Bandra Terminus railway station saying that he went out with a Hindu girl.
The incident took place in July and videos of it were shared widely on social media on 15 August, July.
In the video, the man dressed in a red shirt can be seen getting repeatedly slapped and thrashed by the mob even as the girl objects to the violence. In the video, the girl can be heard saying, “don’t hit him”, but to no avail.
The Muslim boy, after being attacked, is then dragged outside the railway station. The Hindu men dragged the boy out by holding his hair and collar, shouting slogans of “Jai Shri Ram.”
“We have saved a minor Hindu girl today at Bandra Terminus,” one of the men in the mob can be heard saying on camera.
Zeeshan Siddique, the local MLA and Mumbai Youth Congress president, said he has urged the police to conduct a proper investigation.
AIMIM leader Waris Pathan questioned that why police hasn’t taken any action despite so many days the incident has taken place.
