Hindutva group barges into church, attacks worshippers, manhandles women in national capital

Members of the Hindutva armed group Bajrang Dal, wielding speakers blaring the slogan “We will make a Hindu nation, Jai Shri Ram,” attacked Christians who were praying inside a church in the national capital on Sunday.

The incident took place at Siyyon Prathna Bhawan in the Tahirpur area, The Wire reported.

The attackers also vandalized Bibles.

The Hindutva mob, armed with swords and sticks, proclaimed that “ye desh dharm nirpeksh nahi raha hai, yaha ab kanoon badal gaya hai” (India was no longer secular and the rules had changed.)

Several worshippers, including women, were injured.

Three women who did not wish to reveal their identities have claimed that they were beaten by the members Bajrang Dal and that the Hindutva men attempted to remove their clothing, the news website reported.
