Israel hides losses as Palestinian resistance triumphs on ground

Israeli forces faced heavy losses in Gaza’s Zaytoun neighbourhood as the Palestinian resistance carried out a successful defence operation.

A leading source from Al Qassam brigades told Al Jazeera that the counter aggression is being conducted based on information and intelligence documents seized from the Israeli army.

“Analysis of the documents they had obtained enabled the Al Qassam Brigades to identify the objectives and expected routes of the new occupation operation in the Zaytoun neighbourhood,” the source said.

The resistance fighters are controlling the battles in the Zaytoun neighbourhood, inflicting losses on the occupation, Al-Jazeera reported.

Although the Israeli military continues to assert that its soldiers have destroyed tunnel openings and seized resistance weapons in Zaytoun, the newly released video of Qassam disproved the former’s claims.

The footage shows that the resistance is managing the battle in the Zaytoun neighbourhood with all strength and ability.

The Palestinian Chronicle reported that the Resistance has inflicted heavy losses on the Israeli army, in terms of military vehicles, officers and soldiers.

Meanwhile, Israeli Army Radio has announced that the army has withdrawn the Paratroopers Brigade from the Gaza Strip.

The announcement came after the occupation forces faced severe blows in the fierce battles which took place in Khan Yunis, where the Palestinian Resistance is regaining the upper hand.

Notably, the paratroopers have been stationed in the Khan Yunis area for nearly three months, Al Jazeera reported.

Hamas in a ‘dual battle’

Hamas Polit Bureau member Muhammad Nazzal, said that the negotiations on the ‘Paris 2 paper’ Framework deal for a ceasefire are underway, and no agreement has been reached yet.

“The paper issued by the Paris 2 meeting stipulates the entry of aid into Gaza, and it has not been approved yet,” Nazzal told Al Jazeera Mubasher satellite channel on Wednesday.

It is worth mentioning here that not only does the Israeli occupation prevent humanitarian aid from entering Gaza, but also it massacres Palestinians waiting for food.

Hamas leader further explained how the movement is engaged in a dual battle – a fierce negotiating battle and a military battle taking place on the ground.

“We need a qualitative shift in the national path, and the Palestinian home must be restored.

We are not exaggerating if we say that the ongoing field battle indicates the victory of the resistance over the Zionist entity,” added Nazzal.

He alleged that Israel is trying to conceal Palestinian Resistance’s military victory on the ground during the negotiations.

The senior Hamas member stated that the movement’s priority now is to get humanitarian aid to the starving people in the northern Gaza Strip.

Nazzal also pointed out that the statements of Israeli National Security Minister, far-right extremist Itamar Ben-Gvir, hinting at restrictions on prayers in Al-Aqsa Mosque during Ramadan are intended to escalate the situation.

He called on the Palestinian Authority to end its security collaboration with the Israeli military in the West Bank.

He also urged the Palestinians in the occupied West Bank to create a popular movement in support of the resistance in Gaza.

Israel’s military failure

According to the Palestinian sources, 582 Israeli officers and soldiers have been killed in the battle with the resistance since October 7.

Out of them, 242 were killed in ground operations that have been ongoing since October 27, in addition to the injury of about 3,000 officers and soldiers.

Israel refuses to acknowledge its real losses in direct combat against the Palestinian resistance in the Gaza Strip.

While the military analysts conclude Israel’s ground operations in Gaza as a failure, the Israeli forces continue to massacre civilians including children and women with sheer impunity out of desperation.

According to Gaza’s Ministry of Health, 30,035 Palestinians have been killed, and 70,457 injured in Israel’s ongoing genocide.
