Israeli force has launched attack on Muslim worshippers inside al-Masjid al-Qibli in al-Aqsa Mosque with stun grenades, effectively trapping hundreds of people inside, including many children.

Tensions escalated after tens of thousands of Palestinian worshippers protested fresh Israeli settlement after night prayer on the final Friday of Ramadan, a holy month for Muslims.

Earlier today, European governments have urged Israel to stop settlement as weeks-long tensions between Israel and the Palestinians over Jerusalem soared again.

Appealing for calm on the compound through the mosque’s loudspeakers, Sheikh Omar al-Kiswani, the director of Al-Aqsa Mosque, called on Israeli police to halt their attacks and withdraw from the mosque courtyard, Al Jazeera reports.

Muslim world is demanding Israel force to stop attack on one of Muslims Holiest mosque.

The Palestinian Red Crescent emergency service said 136 people were wounded in clashes with police there and elsewhere in Jerusalem, including 83 who were hospitalized. It says most were wounded in the face and eyes by rubber-coated bullets and shrapnel from stun grenades. Israel said six police officers were wounded.
