19-year-old Palestinian footballer shot dead by Israel

Mohammad Ali Ahmad Ghnaim, 19 years old, should have been playing for the Al-Khadr Club on Sunday in the Palestinian 3rd division/South.

Instead his family, teammates and the Palestinian Football Association are burying another young talent.

Ghnaim from the town of Al-Khadr in the west of Bethlehem in the West Bank, was shot dead by Israeli forces on Sunday.

At least three Palestinians including two women shot dead by Israeli forces in less than 24 hours on Sunday.

At the weekend a peaceful demonstration by Palestinians was organised protesting against the execution of a Palestinian woman in a field by Israeli soldiers, near Ghnaim’s family home.

It is unclear whether Ghnaim was taking part in the demonstration.

At least four other Palestinians were wounded by Israeli army during the bullet firing.

Ghnaim was shot in the back by Israeli soldiers, and died immediately.
