Three Palestinians killed Wednesday: Qusai (14), Omar (20), Assaf (34)

Omar Elayian, 20, ( left top) Mohammed Assaf, 34 ( left bottom) and Qusai Hamamra, 14 ( right) were shot dead by Israel on Wednesday.

Israeli forces have shot and killed three Palestinians, including a teenage boy and a lawyer, the Palestinian Health Ministry said.

The three killings on Wednesday, all in separate incidents, were the latest in a wave of Israeli violence against Palestinians that has erupted as Muslims mark the holy month of Ramadan.

This comes three days after four Palestinians including two women were shot dead by Israeli troops on Sunday. Another 40-year old Palestinian was shot dead by Israeli Police on Tuesday.

Wednesday’s killings

The first victim, a young teenage boy, was killed in Husan village near Bethlehem. He was identified as Qusai Hamamra, 14, and his body was withheld by Israeli forces after his death, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.

Northeast of Ramallah, Israeli forces fatally shot Omar Elayian, 20, in the chest, as Israeli forces raided the town of Silwad and other parts of the city, the ministry said.

A lawyer Mohammed Assaf, 34 was also shot dead by Israel.

“The young man, Muhammad Hassan Muhammad Assaf, 34, died after being shot in the chest by the Israeli occupation army during the aggression on the city of Nablus,” the Palestinian health ministry said on Wednesday.

Assaf was the legal adviser to the Palestinian Authority’s committee against the wall and settlements, according to the ministry.

Assaf was standing by the roadside having just taken his nephews to school when he was hit by a bullet as Israeli forces fired while pulling out of Nablus, witnesses told AFP news agency.

The violence in the West Bank follows four deadly attacks in Israel that left 14 people dead.

Prime Minister Naftali Bennett has warned that Israel is now “on the offensive” and granted the security forces “full freedom of action”.
